What is Punda Vibes?
Let’s start with a small introduction to Curaçao’s most fun event. Punda Vibes is a weekly event that takes place every Thursday in the historic Punda district of Willemstad.
During this cultural event, local initiatives will perform live music, folklore dancing, and local art in the vibrant streets and cozy alleys (hanchi’s) of the city center.
Restaurants, bars, and shops will stay open until late, offering happy hours and dinner specials.
It is a lively celebration in the downtown center that stretches from Punda to Pietermaai. In addition, there are fireworks that night.
What time does Punda Vibes start?
The Punda Vibes takes place every Thursday and starts from 5 pm until 10 pm. You can start the celebrations by having dinner in one of the restaurants around- or close to the celebrations.
Afterward, you can discover all the wonders and catch the vibes the event has to offer. Cozy streets and colorful alleys (hanchis) are the scene of the party.
Close the night by visiting the bars around the Nieuwstraat in Pietermaai, the best place to dance the night away to the beats of the DJ, or live music.
What time are the fireworks at Punda Vibes?
The fireworks at Punda Vibes start at 8.15 PM. If you make a dinner reservation early on around 5 PM, you will have plenty of time afterward to discover the event and look for a prime spot to watch the fireworks light up the sky above the city center.
This way you will experience the event to the fullest and make everlasting memories to return home with.

What is the best spot to watch the fireworks at Punda Vibes?
The fireworks light up behind the Fortkerk (Fort Church) near the Dushi Curaçao sign in Punda. The best spots to watch the fireworks include Cascada Rooftop Bar, Wilhelmina Plein and the Waterfort boogjes. From these spots you will have an excellent view of the show during the celebration.
Cascada rooftop bar is the most popular spot to watch the fireworks. You can only access the rooftop bar with a reservation. If you don’t have a reservation, you won’t be allowed in, so I highly recommend booking well in advance due to its popularity.
Personally, i prefer to watch the fireworks from the main square (Wilhelmina Plein). The view is amazing (the photo above was taken from this location), and I find the atmosphere to be cozier.
The Best Restaurants to Dine During Punda Vibes
A Frequently asked question in our Curaçao Community is where to dine during the Punda Vibes event. As a local, I have visited the celebration numerous times and i will share a list of restaurants with great food and where you can catch are great atmosphere.
Mi Familia: Italian restaurant with outdoor seating in Pietermaai in the middle of the liveliness of happy hours and music.
La Bohéme: In the middle of Punda with folklore dancing and live music next to your table. They serve South American specialties like Arepas and Ceviche, but also salads, pasta and burgers.
Iguana Café: Located at the famous Handelkade across the floating bridge. International kitchen and prime location in the downtown area where you can watch the sunset at the Anna Bay.
De Gouverneur: An Iconic restaurant in Otrobanda with a magnificent view over the Handelskade (make a reservation for the balcony). Afterwards, you only need to cross the floating bridge (3-minute walk) to visit the Punda Vibes event.
Kome: Excellent fine dining in colorful Pietermaai. The kitchen is varied, there’s fish, meat, vegetarian, and pastas. The combinations of ingredients are a creative fusion.

Where to Park When Visiting Punda Vibes
During the event, the downtown area of Curaçao can become crowded. That’s why I won’t recommend parking in the streets where the event takes place. Alternatively, you can park best at the following locations:
- Rif Fort Parking Garage (10-minute walk)
- Behind Otrobanda Police Station (5-minute walk)
- Round Market in Punda (2-minute walk)
- Gas Station De Ruyterkade (5-minute walk)
- Waaigat parking lot (5- minute walk taking Pr. Amalia Bridge)
What to do after the event?
Punda Vibes finishes at 10 pm, but that doesn’t mean the party is over. So where is the place to be after the event? When the lights dim in Punda, the Nieuwstraat in Pietermaai is the place to be.
There’s salsa night at Mundo Bizarro, R&B Evergreens at Mr. Porter, and live music & outdoor bar at Ginger, You can also have a drink at one of the outdoor restaurants in the area.
