How to Get to Mambo Beach From the Cruise Port


One of the most popular Curaçao beaches among cruise passengers is without a doubt Mambo Beach. This tourist attraction is located near the cruise port in Willemstad and offers everything you need for a relaxed day at the beach. 

The best way to get to Mambo Beach from the cruise ship is by car. You have the option the rent a car, get a taxi or you can also book a shore excursion that includes a visit to Mambo Beach.

How to get to Mambo Beach from the cruise port? 

Most people choose to visit Mambo Beach by taxi. The taxi rank is directly at the entrance of the cruise terminal. It is a fast and efficient way for cruisers to get to Mambo Beach. A taxi ride for four people costs about $20.00.  

Tip: Share a taxi with fellow passengers if you are with fewer people. 

How Far is Mambo Beach from the cruise port? 

Mambo Beach is not that far away from where the ships dock. It’s about a 15-minute drive from the cruise port in Otrobanda to the entrance of the beach. We are talking about a distance of 7 kilometers or 4.3 miles. The ride is over before you know it. Just relax and enjoy the Curaçao environment. The view from the large Julianabrug over the city is a plus!

Directions to Mambo Beach 

As mentioned above, you must drive over the Juliana Bridge to get to Mambo Beach. You will see what is so special about this bridge with your eyes

From the cruise port, you will follow the Arubastraat to drive over the Koninging Juliana Bridge. After the bridge, you drive straight on the Schottegatweg Zuid until you arrive at the traffic light in Saliña. Turn right and take the second exit at the roundabout.  

You are now driving on the Nieuwe Caracasbaaiweg. Immediately take the first exit to the right and continue on the Dr. P.W. Maalweg. At the end of this street, turn left. From here it is a 5-minute drive straight ahead until you arrive at Mambo Beach. 

Can you walk from the cruise ship to the beach? 

It is not recommended to walk to the beach from the cruise ship. Although it is only an hour’s walk, the infrastructure is not ideal for pedestrians. In addition, it is simply too hot in Curaçao to walk such a distance. You get dehydrated easily and this has immediate consequences for your health.

Things you need to know about Mambo Beach 

Mambo Beach is a man-made sandy beach on the eastern side of Curaçao. It’s one of the island’s most popular beaches due to its convenient location and the many facilities this place has to offer. You can choose from several beach clubs to spend your day. The boulevard also has a wide variety of restaurants to have lunch or dinner.  

The Mambo Beach Boulevard is a place to relax, swim, shop, and dine. It has everything you need for a comfortable day at the shore.  

Entrance fee 

The fee to enter the beach is 6 ANG or 3.50 USD. This includes the use of toilets and showers. Beach beds are not included in the entrance fee. You can rent beach beds at one of the several beach clubs. 

Mambo Beach Parking lot 

If you want to go to Mambo Beach with a rental car, you can park it at the large parking lot at Mambo Beach Boulevard or the parking lot next to the Kontiki Beach Resort, at the entrance of Cabana Beach. Parking in one of these lots is free of charge.
